Rosso di Montalcino is the little brother of Brunello, one of the most renowned wines of Italy. Brunello belongs with Barolo and Amarone to the three kings of Italy. Rosso and Brunello differ very little from each other, they are both made from 100% Sangiovese and often come from the same vineyard. However, when it comes to strength, complexity and aging potential, Brunello is high in the top. This is due to the difference in wood aging. Rosso is aged shorter than Brunello, it stays on oak up to 12 months. This results in an overwhelming intense fruity, smooth and juicy taste sensation.
