Clairette de Die, crowned gold and world famous
This gold award-winning Clairette de Die Tradition, from the family winery Monge Granon is a veritable seducer and refreshing joy. The wine is an ideal companion for sparkling wine lovers, anyone who has something to celebrate or just to enjoy. And a great opportunity to discover this delicious grape!
Monge Granon Clairette de Die is a crystal clear sparkling wine. It has a pale yellow colour with straw nuances. The wine has a refined mousse with subtle tiny bubbles and is very sparkling in taste. Citrus, muscat, ripe apple and apricot give full, sweet and juicy impressions in aroma and taste. The long finish is fruity and mouth-watering with a touch of sweetness.
Monge Granon
In the heart of Clairette de Die, dominated by mountains and rocks and situated on one of the highest steep slopes, you will find the beautiful vineyards of Monge Granon. Founded by two wine families who have produced their beautiful wines for more than four generations on a terroir full of character. The character is due to the perfect weather influences of the Alps and the Provencal sun. Since 1985, they have been producing the best bubbles from the Rhône Valley. They manage their beautiful vineyards with a lot of love and respect. They do this by continuing to combine the family tradition and new developments. This way, knowledge and expertise are updated over and over again and eventually transferred from father to son.
Clairette de Die
Against the imposing foothills of the Alps and in the valley of the Drôme River lie the beautiful vineyards of Clairette de Die. The village 'Die' is located exactly between the northern and southern Rhône area and is therefore different because it is not clear which area it exactly belongs to. The one, who says Clairette de Die, immediately thinks of a sparkling wine a la Champagne from Rhône. It is therefore absolutely the specialty of this appellation.
This slightly sweet 'Champagne' from the Rhône Valley is not only world famous. We can also find the grape in all kinds of wines such as the imposing Châteauneuf du Pape, wines from Mediterranean Provence and the accessible wines from Languedoc.
The most important grape for this appellation is called Clairette but AOP Clairette de Die consists of at least 75% Muscat. The wine is made in a traditional way, the “Méthode Ancestral”. The must is first fermented in the cuve (fermentation tank) at the lowest possible temperature. Before the end of the fermentation, the wine is already bottled and after fermentation and ripening the sediment is immediately removed. The wine is naturally sparkling and because the fermentation has not completely taken place, it results in light and very fruity sparkling wines with a little sweetness.
